Always clogs. I've taken apart my extruder so many times now I went back to the original hotend. Now it's printing fine.
Genuinely the best hotend and nozzle I've used. With the 0.4mm tungsten carbide nozzle, I'm pushing 48mm^3 with ASA-GF and 28mm^3 with PA6-CF. PM PLA pro is 40mm^3. That's after reducing it by 10%. The nozzle swapping is super easy too, although it doesn't come with a wrench, so you'll probably want to make or buy one.
Its a amazing hotend. Was super easy to install still working on tuning but am up to 35 to 40mms flow
I bought this at the last minute at RMRRF - and I wish I would have gotten more! It is the answer to high speed printing with low temp materials. I've tried the ObXidian and the Mako. Mako was instant heat creep - the OBX was nice, but at $150 per size, cost prohibitive. Print quality is phenomenal, zero heat creep when paired with the provided nozzles. I did have an early issue with both the Mako nozzle and the CHT nozzle - although could have been user error, LOL! Last night while printing with PETG, I got a blob...(due to adhesion, not the hotend) I was so disappointed thinking that I'd have to buy a replacement. The heat gun and I got to work and amazingly, I think I've managed to get everything cleaned up. The heat break stopped all upward spread (a handy feature!) and I got a first hand look at the inner workings. I'll be placing another order soon for my X1C and U1!!
I don't own one, but I'm going to buy it the second that it releases. Luke always makes good shit.
