I had some issues but I was reached out to and provided some additional troubleshooting.

Hi There!

Snapmaker in their default profiles made significant improvements in I believe firmware 1.6, as they had similar behavior with the Liber Hotends as well due to increased melt performance.

I couldn't find any support tickets either. Feel free to reach out at support@lukeslabonline.com for assistance, as We're extremely confident there's something else going on.

Single greatest upgrade available

They might increase the total cost of a U1 by almost 50%, and maybe more if you load up on nozzles but I’ll be damned if every penny isn’t well spent.

Not only can I increase the flow of most of my filaments by a minimum of 50%, many have doubled or even tripled.

Amazingly that’s not even the best part; the simply superior flow rate and pressure control afforded by the Pika and FIN nozzles allows you to absolutely crank the kinematic of the machine.

My print times for optimised print profiles have been cut in half on average with no quality loss, and in some cases an improvement since I can just blow past VFA speeds… it’s also a testament to the U1 itself and modern filaments but the Pika are part of the trinity.

Works great, with one little exception

I love the new hotend, specially the ability to quickly change nozzles and the xtra flow. I wish I had seen somewhere that the U1 multi toolhead alignment feature of the printer wouldn't work quite right unless the silicone sock was removed for it. Once I did that all the lay misalignment errors went away. Maybe it's just me, but the way the sock hangs down messes with the calibration sensor somehow. Add a note somewhere about that, or make it more visible if it's already out there and I missed it.

Direct Comparison: Original vs. Pika
- Original Hotend: When printing large surfaces, it hit a wall at a maximum volumetric speed (MVS) of around 25 mm³/s. Higher speeds caused noticeable quality degradation, such as dull spots, uneven extrusion, or poor layer adhesion.
