Heading into 2025 Looking forward, not back!
Wow – Its been just over a year since I started working on Luke’s Laboratory full time.
Since then, we’ve done *a lot*. There are plenty of things that I wish I had gotten to in 2024, but I also know that I also did things in 2024 that I never thought possible!
Some of the highlights, at least for me:
· We launched Chube, Our high flow, incredibly reliable hotend and have yet to have a review under 5 stars! Seriously – this accomplishment means *so* much to us and Team Chube – Its been very clear from feedback that you are experiencing the hotends the way we thought you would – problem free & tough as hell, and unlocking a whole new level of performance!
· We attended our first Rapid+TCT! This big industry show took place in Los Angeles, CA and was both my and Audrina’s first time in California. We had a great time at the show, even though we had a particularily bad time with shipping and logistics, and are quite grateful that we were able to make it this last year.

· Made new friends & partners! One of our core beliefs is that we’ll remain invested in both the community of hardworking DIY & hobbyist types as well as our industrial&commercial clients that depend on our equipment & supplies to stay running. I’m personally stoked with how many of you I’ve gotten to meet & work with in person, whether its at trade shows, online, onsite, or a combination, and 2025 looks to be no different. Special shoutouts to our resellers worldwide for Chube, Joel Telling for all of the wonderful fun he’s been involving me in, & Coex3d for being an awesome filament supplier & partner.
· We built & shipped Stablebots in the low dozens in 2024, and in 2025 we’re looking to accelerate quickly! One thing that we really stepped up was our print farm, which produced close to 2 tons of parts for customers worldwide, while providing vital data on improvements & new products that will come soon!
That being said, we’ve had some hard lessons in growth, and for those that we might not have served the way you deserve to be treated, we’re sorry, and we’re going to be 5x better in 2025. I personally did not anticipate how every little thing can add up significantly, and have had a few hiring hurdles to overcome here to lighten the load. I have a very bad habit of taking on a lot of exciting projects all at once, and have slowly been working on the discipline for a more gradual, regimented, process.
That being said, we have a few exciting things to share for the next year, because of a lot of the work put in throughout 2024!
· One, first and foremost, is that we have an exciting new hire that will be joining us full time! We’ve managed to bamboozle convince Aaron Tragle, who many of you might know as @Machinza on Discord, to join us in Wrightstown, WI to help with just about everything in the lab! We’re excited to utilize his skills to help our consistency with our print farm lead-times, improve our web store, assist customers with product selection and support, fulfill orders, do testing, and generally improve our level of documentation and process control for all of our products.
· We’ll have a third Stablebot model that we’re planning on bringing to RAPID+TCT this year! We’re using all of the same DNA that inhabits our current regular and pro Stablebots, but this new model will feature a steel halo, be designed explicitly for 120c chamber, and be the ultimate in IDEX performance! Stay tuned for more, prototype parts on the way!
· Overhaul of our printer documentation & click-to-buy options! We know that our printer documents are pretty lax – we didn’t expect things to be as popular as they are, and definitely need to take the time to make things better. As a part of this offering, we’re going to be adding a knowledge base, training courses (some of which will be applicable to any printer, not just our Stablebots!) and self-configurable quotes to build the machine you want.
· More Chubes! I’ve had a popup seeking beta testers for a while, and we’ve been pretty happy with the group we’ve chosen. Thank you to those who applied, and check your spam periodically in case there are multiple rounds. We’re looking forward to sharing what we’ve cooked up when we’re ready, and we have some *exciting* new stuff to share.
· Additional hotends in the works! Outside of Chube, we’ve been cooking up a Bambu-style offering that should be an easily-configurable option to cover the wide range of the machines that have been released in the space, while taking the same footprint and being seamless to the user.
· And finally, something that we soft-launched a few weeks ago, but are diving into right now, is the launch of our new brand, the “Two Step Process.”
What is the Two Step Process?
Simply put, the Two Step Process is “Git Gud” – that is, sometimes to solve a problem, the only “reasonable” answer is that you “Got Gud” and solved the problem; something clicked, something invisible to you happened, and things “just work” now. Sometimes it’s a massive quantity of hard work and practice to solve the issue, sometimes you already followed the Two Step Process and you never experienced the problem.
This is something that I learned early on in my engineering career – there can be many sub steps to “getting good” whether it's study, practice, trying new things, or it could be as simple as “I tried it again and it works,” all of these are good examples of “Git Gud.”
What does that mean for a brand? Why make it as simple as “Git Gud?”
Easy – The Two Step Process brand is something we’re launching that condenses all our experience, all our testing, all of our knowledge into simple, “boring” products that simply “got gud” and are what we think will help you on your 3d printing journey without any extra frills or hoopla – you use them, they work, and you get to doing what *you* want to do.
Our initial offerings are exactly that:
· Filament
· Bed Adhesive
· Grease
· And our Nocturne Camera!
We think that we’re bringing the best of what we know forward – When you see the Two Step Process brand going forward, you should expect it to “just work” – nothing particularly exciting, other than how un-exciting it is! These products are simply good products for a good price.
For those who are reading this when we post it, there’s a 10% off coupon that will be available until the 28th, so use code two-step-process on your next order of our new products!
Anyways – there’s even more stuff in here that I’m looking forward to in 2025, but its too far away to talk about yet! I’ll just leave a hint that it might involve setting up a faboratory to compliment the laboratory. Adding subtractive manufacturing to aid our additive manufacturing journey and to help you out there solve your needs for CNC’d parts!
Happy printing!
